As we have been reading the Lightning Thief as a read aloud, a lot of things are starting to happen as the story begins to get a little more complicated. Percy and his friends are having to use some quick thinking and make some tough decisions in order to meet up with Hades. What are some things that surprised you about the kids' meeting with the Lord of the Underworld? What things have happened in our latest reading that have changed the story's plot and what do you predict will happen next?

I think Percy will choose his friends and his mom but leave him behind.
i'm supriesed that the kids have made it this far! it suprised me when annabeth calmed the monster and it didn't want her to leave.i wonder if percy is going to get his mom back? i also wonder who is going to betray him.
I wonder who put the master bolt in Percy's backpack?
But im thinking it was the War God because he will have more power if there's a war!
i think meeting hades was realy very strange i am realy happy that percy is so calm.i think that what changed the storys plot was when they first went into the underworld and everything changed.I think percy will explain things and everything will be ok.
I think Percy will choose Grover to go.Only because Grover will be evil instead of an angle.(nice).But I wonder will Percy return the litning bolt but the real question is that will he even live to return it!
i think that persie is going to to have to compermise with hades and try what surprised me was that theyve had so many problems to get where they are that they have even a bigger problem now.I wonder what the next biggest problem there gonna have and i also wonder if there gonna figure out what the helm is and how to find or get the helm i bet there all filling a little scared and frustrated to get this done.
Kaylee M. Somethings that suprised me when the kids met Hades was when Hades said to Percy to just look in your bookbag for the lightning strike and it was in his bag and he has had it the whole time. What I predict will happen next is the kids go back to the camp and Percy gets his mom back but has to do a quest for Hades before he gets his mom back.
I think that they would proably be a little bit scared,because the lord of the underworld was rasing his voice or yelling at them.I think they will end up talking him into leting them go get the helmet and then he will get his mother back.What has been happening inthe story,Percy has found the thunderbolt in his backpack.i think either Hadies lord of the underworld or wargod or posiden because he is the one that wanted war.I wonder why they don't just get it over with?
I was surprised when Zeus' bolt ended up in Percy's bookbag and I think Luke took the bolt and gave it to Aries like Percy gave Aries his shield and Aries gave the bolt to Percy so he could'nt be suspected
I'm suprised that Percy was so rude Hades. He's one of the three biggest gods! I think that Annabeth will stay and Grover, Percy's Mom,and Percy will go. Hey, Who's Tyson? Someone told my about him but hes not in the book. Is Percy's Brother?
The lightning thief has been a really good book so far.One of my friends has read the second book already before she read the first 1 now she is finished with the first book because she read ahead.I am now hearing about the second book and i hear about a boy named tyson.They say he is a Godling of poseieden.If that is how you spell his name.There is alot of action in this book i wonder who percy will send to spend eternity with hades?I just love the drama in this book it is awesome!!!This is the best book i've read yet.

I think percy is going to pick his mom,grover and him self for the pearls. I wonder if percy will ever be a great hero. Also I wonder if percy will ever stay with his dad.

Hi.I think that this book is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think Percey is going to leave his mom behind for a while.Then I think that percey will go back to get his mom with his friends for backup. all in all I think that this is a great series. i have read 4 of the five books.
I like this book because it it is filled with adventure and mystery. I like the part when they go to the Lotus Casino and lose track of time. I think that Percy will stay so he can save his mom.
I think that this is a really good book and I have the the next two books so I am definitely going to read them. I think this book is full of good surprises. I don't have any idea what will happen next but I maybe think that maybe Annabeth is maybe some kind of spy for one of the gods so I think she will probably be the one that will betrays Persy and Grover since grover was with him since the start of the book. I think that meeting Hades is what changed the story plot

this book has to of been one of my favorites of the series. i like this book except it has a whole bunch of greek mytholagy that i dont understand.Im really dying to read the fifth and last book the last olynpians...................................................
i think percy will fool hades into leting him take all his frinds. he will give zeus his master bolt.this book is very adventures.
I think Persy will leave Anabeth behind in the underworld.
I thank this is a really good book. And I would like to read other's in the percy Jackson and the olypins thing. And as the story goes on I think that percy and his friend's will have to do something with the pearl's and will have to diside who stay's with the god of the under world for all of eternety and if they can make a deal with god of the under world and get away without loosing any body I wonder what will happen next.
this book is soooooooo awsome!!!!!i luv the thought that went into it.i think the Titans used Luke to steal the master bolt so Zues and Posiden would fight,Hades would get blamed,and they could escape with all the fighting and start a war.in the end Percy will end up losing his mom.
